Abstract
Značajnu ulogu u međuratnoj prehrambenoj industriji Hrvatske zauzima Zagrebački parni mlin. Od njegova osnutka pa sve do nacionalizacije 1946. bio je jedan od vodećih mlinova hrvatske i jugoslavenske mlinske industrije. Na temelju arhivskog gradiva, onodobnih novina i dosadašnjih historiografskih spoznaja analiziran je način proizvodnje i opseg djelovanja na domaćem i stranom tržištu u razdoblju od 1918. do 1941. Navedeno razdoblje obilježeno je kreditnom, poljoprivrednom i velikom gospodarskom krizom koje su ozbiljno utjecale na samo poslovanje mlina, ali prije svega su rezultirale promjenom strategije poslovanja. U radu se proširuju postojeće te utvrđuju nove spoznaje o djelovanju Zagrebačkog parnog mlina u međuratnom razdoblju, ali i općenito mlinske industrije toga razdoblja. Usprkos brojnim državnim ograničenjima kojima se nastojalo umanjiti poslovanje paromlina, njegova je važnost bila od iznimnog značaja za hrvatsko gospodarstvo kao i za prehranu domaćeg stanovništva.
Abstract (english)
Zagreb steam mill had a significant role in the interwar Croatian food industry. From its foundation all the way to nationalization in 1946, it was one of the leading mills in the whole Yugoslav milling industry. On the basis of archival sources and newspapers from that period up to current historiography this paper analyzes the mode of production and the scope of business activity in the period since 1918 to 1941. This period was marked by the credit, agricultural and economic crisis that had serious influence on the mill. This paper stands to expand current and reach new insights about the activities of the steam mill and milling industry in the interwar period. Despite many limitations implemented by the State, steam mill was extremely important for the nutrition of the local population and economy in Croatia of that time.
