Abstract U suvremenom društvu čovjek je tehnološkim putem u mogućnosti radikalno mijenjati svoj okoliš i samog sebe što slijedi ideju transhumanizma o nedovršenosti ljudskoga bića koje uporabom tehnologije doživljava svoj fizički i kognitivni maksimum uz mogućnost neograničenog životnog vijeka.
Abstract (english) In contemporary society, individuals can radically change their environment and themselves through technology, which follows the idea of transhumanism about the incompleteness of a human being, who through the application of technology achieves his maximum on the physical, psychological and other levels. Starting precisely from the perspective of transhumanism, this paper thematizes it through selected concepts of the homo cyborg in the form of a process of replacement and normalization, and on the other hand, the digital cyborg in the form of a process of improvement and reshaping. By employing qualitative research through interview method, this study has researched how different types of transhumanistic technologies are interpreted by socio-humanistic and technical experts assuming that their different professional backgrounds and practices will shape their emphasis on the problems and potentials of the topic on a social and individual level. To provide a comprehensive understanding and acquire in-depth insights, visual representations of four types of upgrade technologies and the soldier of the future were used. The analysis revealed variations in the approach to this topic taken by participants from the social-humanistic and technical field. While both groups highlighted the negative consequences of the application of transhumanist technology, the participants from the social-humanist field more problematized social inequalities, the complementarity of human being and machines, objectification of man and lost subjectivity, robotization and loss of freedom. On the other hand, technical experts placed a greater emphasis on themes like control, management and technological manipulation of man, the need for legal regulation of technology and the need for ethical use of technology. In additional, technical experts measured the positive aspects of transhumanism technology to a greater extent than social humanistic experts. The participants' interpretation was characterized by the dimension of religiosity, since they often referred to their own religious attitudes and general religious arguments in emphasizing the social and individual consequences of the possible application and spread of transhumanist technologies. Expanding current sociological knowledge about the current phenomenon, this paper points to the need for further problematization of transhumanism for society and human.
