Abstract
Stres na radnom mjestu utječe na fiziološku i psihičku dobrobit zaposlenika, a pridonose mu rizični faktori posla. Mogućnost dovođenja psa na posao potencijalno nudi način za suočavanje sa stresom i povećanje psihološke dobrobiti kod zaposlenika. Osim prednosti, psi mogu uzrokovati zdravstvene, sigurnosne i socijalne probleme. Postoje istraživanja koja su proučavala važnost radnih mjesta koja su „pet-friendly“, ali takvih studija za Hrvatsku nema. Cilj istraživanja je bio ispitati odnos percipiranih pozitivnih i negativnih posljedica držanja pasa na radnom mjestu od strane vlasnika i ne-vlasnika pasa, te njihovu povezanost sa zadovoljstvom poslom, zadovoljstvom životom, percipiranim stresom i emocionalnom dobrobiti na poslu. U rezultatima su ispitanici izvijestili o umjerenom stresu i zadovoljstvu životom. Vlasnici pasa su izvijestili o manje negativnih i više pozitivnih posljedica držanja pasa na poslu u odnosu na ne-vlasnike. Ne-vlasnici pasa su izvijestili o većem zadovoljstvu poslom i emocionalnoj dobrobiti na poslu u odnosu na vlasnike pasa. Vlasnici pasa su izvijestili o većem percipiranom stresu u odnosu na ne-vlasnike pasa. Nije utvrđena statistički značajna razlika u zadovoljstvu životom između vlasnika i ne-vlasnika pasa. Nije utvrđena statistički značajna korelacija između negativnih i pozitivnih aspekata držanja psa na poslu te zadovoljstva poslom, zadovoljstva životom, stresa i emocionalne dobrobiti. Utvrđena je statistički značajna negativna povezanost između pozitivnih i negativnih aspekata držanja psa na poslu. Utvrđena je značajna pozitivna korelacija između zadovoljstva poslom, zadovoljstva životom i emocionalne dobrobiti na poslu. Utvrđena je značajna negativna korelacija između stresa i zadovoljstva poslom, zadovoljstva životom te emocionalne dobrobiti.
Abstract (english)
Stress at the workplace affects physiological and psychological well-being, with job-related risk factors contributing. The possibility of bringing a dog to work potentially offers a way to cope with stress and enhance employees' psychological well-being. Besides the benefits, dogs can cause health, safety, and social issues. Research has examined the importance of "pet-friendly" workplaces, but such studies are lacking in Croatia. The aim of the study was to examine the relationship between perceived positive and negative consequences of keeping dogs at the workplace by dog owners and non-owners, and their association with job satisfaction, life satisfaction, perceived stress, and emotional well-being at work. Results showed that participants reported moderate stress and life satisfaction. Dog owners reported fewer negative and more positive consequences of having dogs at work compared to non-owners. Non-dog owners reported greater job satisfaction and emotional well-being at work compared to dog owners. Dog owners reported higher perceived stress compared to non-owners. No statistically significant difference in life satisfaction was found between dog owners and non-owners. No statistically significant correlation was found between the negative and positive aspects of keeping a dog at work and job satisfaction, life satisfaction, stress, and emotional well-being. A statistically significant negative association was found between positive and negative aspects of keeping a dog at work. A significant positive correlation was found between job satisfaction, life satisfaction, and emotional well-being at work. A significant negative correlation was found between stress and job satisfaction, life satisfaction, and emotional well-being.
