Abstract
Na temelju objavljene literature i intervjua autorica daje pregled događaja na području istočne Hrvatske koje su prethodile obrani Nuštra u jesen 1991. godine. Kako je današnja općina Nuštar pripadala općini Vinkovci 1991. godine, pregled događaja je koncentriran isključivo na područje općine Vinkovci i susjedne općine Vukovar, uz koju su događaji usko vezani. Rad donosi pregled obrane Nuštra od neprijateljskih napada. Opisani su napadi od srpnja do listopada 1991., a naglasak je stavljen na glavne neprijateljske napade u listopadu 1991. godine. Opisane su zadaće i dijelovi postrojbi koje su aktivno sudjelovale u obrani te su za ovaj rad obavljeni intervjui s lokalnim sudionicima obrane. U radu je također objašnjena bliska povezanost između Nuštra i obrane Vukovara sve dok taj grad neprijatelj nije zauzeo sredinom studenoga 1991. godine.
Abstract (english)
Based on the published literature and interviews the author gives an overview of the events in eastern Croatia that preceded the defense of Nuštar in the fall of 1991. As today's municipality Nuštar belonged in 1991. to the Vinkovci municipality, the event's review focused exclusively on the area of Vinkovci municipality and the neighboring municipality of Vukovar where events were closely related. The attacks from July to October 1991 are described and the main direct enemy attacks in October 1991 are emphasized. The tasks and parts of the units that actively participated in the defense are also described and for this work were conducted interviews with local defense participants. This work also explains the narrow link between the Nuštar and defense of Vukovar before the enemy occupation in November of 1991.
