Abstract
U posljednjih smo nekoliko godina primijetili povećano zanimanje za filmove s vjerskom tematikom koji su predstavljeni na filmskim festivalima te ovjenčani važnim filmskim nominacijama i nagradama. Stoga se u ovom radu odlučilo istražiti odnos religije i filmske umjetnosti, pogled crkvenog učiteljstva, ali i mnogobrojnih autora s obzirom na tu temu. Izneseni su rezultati analize sadržaja 15 suvremenih filmova religiozne tematike s ciljem da se istraže vjerske teme, vrsta religioznosti, vjera protagonista, prikaz vjerskih službenika i sl. Metoda koja je korištena u istraživačkom djelu rada je analiza sadržaja koja je omogućila kvalitativnu i kvantitativnu obradu podataka iz filmskog narativa. Na temelju uzorka od 15 suvremenih filmova američke i europske kinematografije koji su realizirani unazad deset godina, a koji eksplicitno prikazuju religioznu i vjersku tematiku, uočeno je da je riječ uglavnom o biografskim dramama koje u središte narativa stavljaju kršćansku religiju; protagonisti filmova su vjernici te iskazuju i institucionalnu i osobnu religioznost s time da je osobna povezanost s Bogom naglašenija i češće prikazivana od slijeđenja vjerskih praksi i rituala, te da vjerski službenici i vjerske institucije u većini analiziranih filmova nisu kritiziram već su prikazani ili pozitivno ili je upućena kritika isključivo pojedincima koji su zloupotrijebili svoje crkvene ovlasti.
Abstract (english)
In the last few years, we have noticed an increased interest in religious films that have been presented at film festivals and won important film nominations and awards. Therefore, this paper explores the relationship between religion and film art, the view of church teaching, but also many authors with regard to this topic. The results of the content analysis of 15 contemporary religious films are presented in order to explore religious themes, type of religiosity, religion of the protagonists, portrayal of religious officials, etc. The method used for research is content analysis that allowed qualitative and quantitative processing of the film narrative. Based on a sample of 15 contemporary films of American and European cinema made ten years ago, which explicitly presents religiosity and faith, it was noticed that these are mainly biographical dramas that put the Christian religion at the center of the narrative; the protagonists of the films are believers and express both institutional and personal religiosity, with personal connection with God more pronounced and more often shown than following religious practices and rituals, and that religious officials and religious institutions in most analyzed films are not criticized, but shown either positively, with the exception of criticizing individuals who abused their ecclesiastical authority.
