hiperandrogenizmom, policističnim izgledom jajnika i neplodnosti. Neplodnost
pacijentica s dijagnozom sindroma policističnih jajnika (PCOS) i usporediti ih s kontrolnom
skupinom neplodnih žena bez dijagnoze PCOS, usporedive dobi i indeksa tjelesne mase.
elektroničke baze pohranjenih podataka, a upotrebom metoda grafičkog i tabelarnog
prikazivanja prezentirane su vrijednosti promatranih pokazatelja zdravstvenog stanja
pacijentica.
Rezultati: Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju statistički značajne razlike u razini AMH, LH, E2 i
FSH između PCOS skupine i kontrolne skupine. Neplodne pacijentice s dijagnozom PCOS
imaju više razine LH i AMH u odnosu na kontrolnu skupinu, a pacijentice kontrolne skupine
imaju više razine E2 i FSH u odnosu na PCOS skupinu. Razina TSH i prolaktina bila je
usporediva među skupinama.
Zaključak: Pacijentice sa sindromom policističnih jajnika (PCOS) imaju više razine AMH i
LH, a niže E2 i FSH u odnosu na žene bez dijagnoze policističnih jajnika usporedivih
Abstract (english) Introduction: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a frequent health disorder in women,
characterized by chronic ovulatory dysfunction, oligomenorrhea, hyperandrogenism,
polycystic ovaries and infertility. Infertility is explained as the absence of a desired pregnancy
with regular, unprotected coitus for a period of one year.
Aim: The aim of this study is to inspect the hormonal characteristics of infertile women with
a diagnosis of polycystic ovaries (PCOS) and compare them with a control group of infertile
women without a diagnosis of PCOS, of the comparable age and body mass index.
Methods: The study included thirty patients with a diagnosis of PCOS treated for infertility
in Clinical Hospital "Sveti Duh" in the period from April to July 2022 who were compared
with a control group of fifteen women without a diagnosis of PCOS, but with a diagnosis of
infertility, of the comparable age and body mass index. The data were collected on serum
levels: follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), estradiol (E2), antimüllerian
hormone (AMH), thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), prolactin (PRL) at one time
point, from the 2nd to the 4th day of the cycle. The data were collected from an electronic
database, and the values of the observed indicators of the patient's health status were
presented using graphical and tabular presentation methods.
Results: The results detected that there are statistically significant diversity in the levels of
AMH, LH, E2 and FSH between the control and PCOS groups. Patients from the PCOS group
have increased levels of LH and AMH as compared to the control group, while patients from
the control group have higher E2 and FSH levels as compared to the PCOS group. The levels
of TSH and prolactin were comparable between the groups.
Conclusion: Patients who have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) face higher levels of LH
and AMH, and lower levels of E2 and FSH compared to women without a diagnosis of
polycystic ovaries with comparable epidemiological features treated at the Clinical Hospital
Sveti Duh. The research was conducted on a small number of respondents, so the results need
to be confirmed on a larger sample.
