Abstract Otpornost je popularna tema u mnogim područjima psihologije, posebice u kliničkoj
psihologiji.
(1) kognitivno suzdržavanje, (2) emocionalno jedenje i (3) nekontrolirano jedenje.
otpornosti (CD-RISC-25) i Trofaktorski upitnik obrazaca hranjenja (TFEQ-R18).
prevencije.
Abstract (english) Resilience is a popular topic in many areas of psychology, especially clinical psychology.
Higher resilience is associated with a lower frequency of psychopathology and a better
prognosis for recovery. Eating patterns describe the attitudes, habits and circumstances in
which a person consumes food. They also include the emotional relationship to food, so we
distinguish between (1) cognitive restraint, (2) emotional eating and (3) uncontrolled eating.
Disturbed eating patterns may indicate the presence of an eating disorder. Previous research
has shown that low resilience, female gender, low body satisfaction and frequent dieting
predict deviant eating patterns. The aim of this research was therefore to examine whether
eating patterns can be predicted based on resilience, gender, body satisfaction and dieting in
young adults.
The research was conducted online and 189 young adults from Croatia participated.
Sociodemographic information, information on body satisfaction and the tendency to go on a
diet were collected, and two questionnaires were administered: the Connor-Davidson
Resilience Scale (CD-RISC-25) and the Three-Factor Eating Questionnaire (TFEQ-R18).
Correlational analyses found a significant relationship only between the pattern of emotional
eating and all of the predictors. Hierarchical regression analysis therefore found that higher
emotional eating can be predicted based on female gender, lower body satisfaction and more
frequent dieting, but not resilience. Furthermore, female gender and frequent dieting
predicted cognitive restraint, while lower body satisfaction predicted uncontrolled eating. The
results of this research provide insight into the factors that make a person more vulnerable to
the development of eating disorders, which can be used in designing their prevention
programs.
