Abstract Cyber kultura danas predstavlja potpuno novi oblik kulture koji se rađa pojavom i unapređenjem moderne tehnologije. Stoga, ključ zdravog i održivog načina života leži u umjerenom korištenju društvenih mreža, osvještavanju medijske manipulacije i razvijanju kritičkog mišljenja.
Abstract (english) Cyberculture is a new form of a culture born with the emergence and advancement of modern technology. Digital devices, the Internet, and virtual communication have a significant role in business and private lives. Therefore, they have become a part of everyday life, not noticing the frequent negative consequences of such a lifestyle. Precisely because of this, the general goal of this paper was to analyze and evaluate the perception of young people about the impact of cyberculture on the quality of life through three key elements, namely the impact of cyberculture on mental health, social life, and on the perception of beauty. The theoretical part emphasized the history and development of cyberculture, the positive and negative sides of the Internet and social networks, the socialization of young people in the age of cyberculture, and the impact of modern technology on mental health. In the research part of the paper, a quantitative method, that is, an anonymous survey was used to collect the data. The survey included the population of young people aged 18 to 25 in a non-probabilistic convenient sample of 340 respondents, which concluded that young people perceive the impact of cyberculture and social networks as mostly negative on their self-confidence, they believe that it causes insecurity and complexes and thus potentially negatively impacts mental health. All of this ultimately affects an individual’s lifestyle and social interaction. Therefore, the key to a healthy and sustainable lifestyle lies in the moderate use of social networks, media manipulation awareness, and the development of critical thinking.
